Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?
No, anybody can book to see one of our podiatrists and pay privately, without having a referral.
Can I get Medicare rebates for podiatry?
If you book an appointment with your GP beforehand, you can discuss whether you are eligible for a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP). This would allow you to have up to five (5) consultations per year to be partially rebated through Medicare. The rebate amount is $61.80, and is processed after you have paid for the consultation in full.
Does Private Health Insurance cover it?
Yes, if you have podiatry included as part of your “extras cover”, we can process your private health claim at the time of your appointment. This would mean that you would only have to pay the “gap” of whatever was remaining after your rebate. The level of cover you receive will depend on your policy.
Do you offer bulk billing or concessions?
No, we do not offer bulk billing or concessions. We pride ourselves on providing a high level of service, with thorough consultations and treatment plans. This would not be sustainable under these conditions.
Do you accept NDIS, DVA, TAC, WorkSafe, and My Aged Care?
Yes, we are registered to provide podiatry services under all of these schemes. We just ask that you provide us with the appropriate documents, and contact details of any case managers or accounts teams (where applicable) prior to your first consultation. If you are unable to organise this in time, you will need to pay privately for your first consultation and seek reimbursement yourself. If you would like more help with this, please contact our friendly admin team on (03) 9007 2267
How long will it take to get an appointment?
At our Melton clinic, we have a 48 hour appointment guarantee for new patients. If you cannot find an appointment online within 48 hours, give us a call on (03) 9007 2267 and we will be able to make one for you. At our Sunbury clinic we do not offer any guarantees, but you can usually be seen in the same week. For home visits, please contact us to check for the soonest availability in your area.
